One of the town’s most popular businesses has made an offer to vulnerable residents during the coronavirus crisis. The Almshouse Tea Shop on the Square has taken steps to remain in business during the emergency following the unhelpful advice from the Prime Minister Boris Johnson to ‘avoid pubs and restaurants.’ The advice has been criticised by the industry by publicans, cafe and restaurant owners as they either shut up shop or struggle with reduced trade.
The owner of the Almshouse Tea Shop Nicky Frewin said: “Our suppliers are still delivering to The Tea Shop so if anyone is running low on supplies please give us a call and we will try our best to help. We will continue to offer takeaway food and drinks as usual and if we are forced to close our doors, we will then look into offering a delivery service within the local area for anyone running low on any supplies that we are able to source.
Stay healthy, stay safe and see you soon x.”
