New pictures of the man made lake A series of photographs showing the beauty of the reservoir that lies between Cheddar and Axbridge in Somerset – and how the water levels have fallen during the summer. They are all taken with a Samsung mobile phone in the early morning whilst out for my jog – around 6.30am to 7.30am. The lens is the main reason why the reservoir looks so large – almost like an inland sea – but in reality the circular lake is man made, built in the 1930s with a high bank to hold the water. First light is around 5.30am but with each morning the sunrise comes slightly later so not too many more day light runs first thing.
